Department of Early Childhood Care and Education
The Department of Early Childhood Care and Education was established in 1997 and offers a four-year Bachelors program, a two-year continuing education program, and a Masters program. All three programs focus on planning, implementing and participating in activities for children from birth to six years of age. The teaching curriculum provides a comprehensive basis in such fields as Childhood Development, Curriculum Planning and Implementation, Behavioral Development, and Ethics; and aims to prepare the students for careers as childcare professionals, preschool / kindergarten teachers, or specialists within related educational or social welfare agencies. To fulfill its vision of creating an outstanding teaching environment, the department recruits high caliber educators as faculty members and maintains an extensive range of library resources and facilities. Moreover, the department collaborates closely with other departments in the university in order to share own experiences and innovations and to learn from those of others.
